Expressions Gallery
I like to think of abstract painting as a translation of emotion that creates a mini story. Below are some of my stories.

Process & Technique
I became a self-taught artist in 2012 after my Mom passed away, and intuitively started expressing my emotions on canvas. I was drawn to the safe, heart-opening place that painting took me to.
My studio is filled with lots of different brushes and tools, but my favorite thing to paint with is my hands. There’s something meaningful about applying paint directly from my hands to the canvas--it's like an energy exchange between me and the expression being revealed. Creating a connection with the piece like this has become part of my practice.
I love to incorporate layers of water and drips in my paintings, using the natural fall of rain water directly on the canvas, when possible. It's so fascinating to watch how rain takes the paint on its own journey, all the while infusing the canvas with nature’s energy. Co-creating with nature’s elements like this is almost like painting with a friend.
But whatever techniques I use, they're always accompanied by a process of courage. For me, connecting with and translating my emotion onto canvas requires a quieting of thought, surrendering to the unknown and letting go of the outcome. This process is what makes painting exciting and therapeutic at the same time.
